Ana Mari Rivero Weiss M.S., CCC-SLP, President
Ana Mari is a licensed and registered Speech Language Pathologist in Florida. She is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association, where she attained her Certificate of Clinical Competencies (CCC). She is the president of Express Yourself-Speech Language Therapy and has achieved a Master of Science in both Speech Language Pathology and Exceptional Student Education (ESE). Ana Mari is passionate about working with children and devoting her life to helping children with communication difficulties. She bases her principles on meeting every child’s unique and individual needs by incorporating a variety of therapy techniques that provide effective and enjoyable therapy sessions. Individual sessions provide intensive therapy to promote maximum progress. Motivating games, manipulatives, and interactive applications make sessions appealing to all ages. Ana Mari also engages the children in social pragmatic group sessions which provide children the opportunity to practice appropriate social behaviors, helping them achieve confidence during every day social interactions. Ana Mari has extensive experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, auditory processing disorders, feeding disorders, articulation and fluency disorders, as well as children with social and pragmatic delays. She is a certified provider for the DIR: Floortime as well as the Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention. Ana Mari is proud to have focused her career as a speech and language pathologist in helping children with special needs by using both traditional methods and cutting edge therapy techniques to provide highly effective outcomes.
Karina Buznego, M.S., CCC-SLP
Karina is a licensed and registered Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Florida and a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association. Karina holds a Bachelor degree with a focus in Psychology and Education from the University of Miami and a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology degree from Florida International University (FIU). While obtaining her undergraduate degree, Karina began to gain experience with children of varying exceptionalities as an employee for Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). During the pursuit of her Master's degree, she interned and gained valuable experience at multiple clinical settings where she evaluated and provided therapy to pediatric and adult populations. After graduating from FIU, Karina continued to work for MDCPS where she currently works as a Speech-Language Pathologist providing treatment to over 50 children ranging from different developmental disorders. Here, she has gained an extensive amount of experience with receptive and expressive language delays, pragmatic/social disorders, articulation and fluency disorders, hearing impairments, auditory processing disorders, phonological disorders, reading comprehension difficulties, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome. Karina has a great amount of passion and enthusiasm for helping the development of young children and these traits have led her to be well respected by her peers, patients, and students.
Carolina Lima, M.S., CCC-SLP
Carolina is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Florida and she holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association). She has been working with children of varying exceptionalities for the past 19 years. While attaining her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, she began working at the Kendall Speech and Language Center as a technician in their First Step program which entailed working closely with children presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Once she graduated, she worked as a teacher in their Next Step program preparing a small group of speech and language delayed preschool aged students for kindergarten. While working on her graduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Florida International University, she interned at various clinical settings where she provided therapeutic intervention to both the pediatric and adult populations. Upon graduating with her master’s degree in 2005, she began working as a Speech-Language Pathologist for Miami Dade County Public Schools and the Child Development Center at South Miami Hospital. She currently provides speech therapy to children living in or attending schools in the South Miami/East Kendall/Pinecrest areas. During the past 13 years, she has gained proficiency and experience in providing intervention to children presenting with speech and language delays and disorders, pragmatic language disorders, hearing impairments, and feeding disorders.
Alexandra Nunez M.S., CCC-SLP
Alexandra has been a licensed and registered Speech-Language Pathologist in Florida and a member of the American Speech and Language Hearing Association for the last 10 years. She obtained her Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology from Florida International University. Prior to attaining her masters degree, she taught second grade having received a bachelors in elementary education. She has extensive experience working with feeding and language difficulties in both pediatric and geriatric populations having worked in the hospital setting and school setting over the last ten years. She is a mom of 3 and had a strong urge to return to working with children after her son Jake was born 8 years ago. She has two sons, Jake and Ethan and a daughter Grace. She loves spending time with her family and traveling. She also enjoys reading and loves working to enhance the lives of others through her work as a speech language pathologist.
Carolina Sanchez, M.S., CCC-SLP
Carolina E. Sanchez is a licensed speech language pathologist in the state of Florida. She is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association, where she attained her Certificate of Clinical Competencies (CCC). She achieved a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Development and a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from Florida International University. She is passionate about working with children. Throughout her career she has attained experience in working with children of all ages with special needs individually and in groups. She has experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Auditory Processing Disorders, Feeding Disorders, Articulation Disorders, Fluency Disorders, and Receptive and Expressive Language Disorders, as well as Social and Pragmatic Language delays. Her goal is to make a difference in the lives of children and improve their everyday communication skills.
Kristina Suarez, M.S., CCC-SLP
Kristina Suarez is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Florida. She attended Florida International University where she earned her bachelors in psychology with a special interest in applied behavior analysis. She worked as a behavioral therapist for 4 years acquiring experiences with the autism community and other behavioral disorders. Her passion in working with children led her to attain a Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Nova Southeastern University. She has a passion for feeding and swallowing disorders after having gained experience during her clinical rotations within the hospital setting. These experiences allowed for unique opportunities which focused on feeding and swallowing within the pediatric population. Additionally, Kristina has gained proficiency with behavioral intervention, articulation, speech and language delays and pragmatic disorders.
